Asda is bringing in some summertime cheer for drivers everywhere today with a fuel price cut of up to 2ppl on diesel and unleaded.

The move comes just in time for holidaymakers getting ready to head off on their travels from the Scottish highlands to the South coast, meaning there’ll be more left in their pockets to spend holiday treats.

Effective from today, Asda’s new national price cap will bring diesel down to 106.7ppl and unleaded down to 105.7ppl at all its 272 petrol stations.

The supermarket is the only retailer that has a national price cap on fuel at all of its filling stations, ensuring every single one of our customers knows the maximum price they will pay at the pump regardless of where they live.

Andy Peake, Asda’s Senior Director for Petrol said: “It’s the start of the summer holidays and we know families will be getting out and about all across the country which is why we’re dropping the price of fuel.

“Drivers will pay no more than 106.7ppl for diesel and 105.7ppl on unleaded at any Asda forecourt across the country – regardless of their holiday destination.

“At Asda we always pass on any savings we can make to our customers, so it’s great to see that costs have dropped despite early predictions that the cost of fuel would increase following the outcome of the EU Referendum.”
