If you are a community organisation based or working in Luddenden Foot Ward in Calderdale Council terms, you may be eligible to apply for a Ward Forum grant of up to £500.
But you need to get your application in speedily by contacting the local neighbourhood co-ordinator Jae Campbell soon as this funding round ends in just over a month’s time on July 10.
Other wards have similar schemes.
The grants must be spent on activities or projects that directly benefit the community of Luddenden Foot Ward, which includes, Mytholmroyd, Wainstalls and Cragg Vale, said Jae.
“We especially welcome applications from groups that have never received funding before, who struggle to get funding through other sources, who would really benefit from a small grant or who want to support hard to reach sections of the ward,” he said.
To apply, there are some criteria that must be fulfilled - community organisations must have a written constitution or set of rules, a bank account accessed by at least two signatories in the name of the organisation, and must also have a safeguarding policy if they work with children, young people or vulnerable people.
In the past grants have been given for planting or local clean ups, equipment, publicity, exhibitions and events including local festivals.
