The Halifax and Calderdale, and Keighley and Craven, branches of CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) are organising a real ale ramble from Hebden Bridge on Saturday, August 2, via the New Delight at Colden and Heptonstall to the Blue Pig (Midgehole Working Mens’ Club), which will be holding its annual beer festival this weekend.

The walk will start from Hebden Bridge Railway Station at 11am and proceed via the Cuckoo Steps, Hell Hole Rocks and Hebble Hole Bridge to the New Delight, where there will be a refreshment stop, before proceeding to Heptonstall for a further stop and then down the hill to Midgehole for the beer festival.

Participants can then return to Hebden Bridge on the 906 minibus at 5pm or on foot later in the evening.

The walk will be approximately six miles of moderate-to-easy going, with one short moderately strenuous section which can be avoided by using an alternative route.

All walkers who enjoy a pint or two of real ale or cider are welcome - CAMRA membership is not necessary, say the organisers.

Please wear good walking boots, bring waterproof clothing and a packed lunch. For further details, contact Andy Grant on 07752 551092.
