School pupils cook up a storm in Master Chef competition

William Henry Smith pupils had their culinary abilities put to the test in the school’s annual Master Chef competition.

Four competing houses were given £30 to cook a three course meal for two. It was judged by head teacher Andy Christie, catering manager Lindsey Marks and former organiser Helene Mellor. Mozart house came first, winning £60. Second place went to Newton House and Lowry House came in third.

Event organiser Laura Kelsey said: “It was an excellent evening with all boys putting in a lot of hard work and the food was delicious.”
