Jack Mountain and Niall Small, year six pupils at Carr Green Primary School, Rastrick, took part in the challenge to raise funds for their school. It saw them swim a total of 6,432 lengths between October 1 and December 18 last year - the equivalent of swimming the Lake Eau d’Heure in Belgium, Lac du Bourget in France, Lake Maggiore in Switzerland and Italy, Lake Ohrid in Albania, Lake Tisza in Hungary, Lake Neusiedi in Austria and Hungary, and Lake Beysehir in Turkey.

Paul Mashinter, head teacher at Carr Green Primary School, said: “We are really proud of them.”

The boys raised more than £250.
