Melody Belles, made up of 15 singers, have created a ‘virtual choir’ to celebrate VE Day’s 75th anniversary, which has sadly been marred by the coronavirus lockdown.
During this time of year it is practise galore for the choir, whose schedule is usually packed to the rafters with events, but this year the team of 15 have had to improvise.

“When VE Day comes around we usually have loads of events booked such as singing at the Piece Hall with Halifax BID, or Haworth’s famous 1940s event.
“This year our ladies recorded their parts of a medley I arranged and put together singing White Cliffs of Dover and We’ll Meet Again.
“I edited the video and audio together to produce a ‘virtual choir’, which we uploaded to YouTube.”
Going forward, Melody Belles will hope to raise cash at events for their chosen charity Overgate Hospice.
