Rate reduction for new and existing businesses

Members agreed they must consider its position and voted in favour of a further report to review scheme progression.

Councillor Peter Caffrey who has Cabinet responsibility for economy, said: “Rate relief is designed to reduce cost and encourage businesses to come to Calderdale and for exisiting businesses to expand.”

Businesses can benefit from up to 100 per cent of the increase in business rates payable in the first year of occupation.

Eligible parties include new Calderdale businesses, businesses relocating to Calderdale and existing businesses which are expanding in the area.
