Morning travel and weather update

Motorists are facing delays this morning, with accidents and breakdowns on the M62.

The first is westbound between J23, A640 (Huddersfield) and J22, A672 (Rishworth Moor), because of an accident, while the second -caused by a vehicle breakdown - has seen a lane blocked on exit slip road to M1 Northbound and slow traffic westbound at J29, M1 (Lofthouse) to J31, A655 (Castleford).

Motorists are also facing delays at the A58 Wharf Street in Sowerby Bridgewhere traffic is busy but moving in both directions at the A6139 Tuel Lane junction.

There are also problems for commuters travelling to Manchester Victoria station because of signal problems affecting all services on the line. Trains between Mytholmroyd and Hebden Bridge are running as normal. Earlier in the day signalling problems meant that trains were having to run at a reduced spped between the Calder Valley stations.

Owing to signalling problemsm the 08.50am HebdenBridge to York train, due at 10:21 will start from Bradford Interchange.

On the weather front, it’s set to be another cold day with top temperatures reaching six degrees Celsius.
