Eco team builds for the future

Brighouse-based energy efficiency specialist Ploughcroft Eco-Roof is launching a drive to recruit ten new apprentices in 2015.

The announcement follows a record-breaking year for Ploughcroft that has seen the company grow by more than 50 per cent in the last 12 months.

Successful candidates will be enrolled on Ploughcroft’s Eco-Roof and Eco-Wall Apprenticeship Scheme, the first of its kind in the UK, offering a unique insight into the booming energy efficiency sector.

As part of a two-year apprenticeship, the course will offer a mix of on-the-job training and classroom-based learning which will cover traditional roofing, as well as a wide range of cutting edge, energy efficient construction techniques.

To help in its search, Ploughcroft will be holding a special Apprentice Open Day event at its Brighouse offices on Friday, May 1, between 9am and noon, offering potential candidates the opportunity to find out more about the company, meet the team and learn about the course itself.

Managing director Chris Hopkins said: “Homeowners are becoming a lot savvier when it comes to energy efficiency home improvements and are now prepared to properly invest in measures to stop heat leaking out of their homes, and their bills literally going through the roof.

“For Ploughcroft, that means we have experienced significant growth in recent months and we’re thrilled to be expanding and creating new jobs in the local community.”
