Changes to train times across the region

As of tomorrow, Sunday, May 18, most Northern services will be amended due to a revision of long distance operators’ service structure.

Northern Rail said services may be affected by just a few minutes but other routes it could be more.

The rail travel provider reminded customers to check revised timetables, available at the station or online (northernrail.org) before they travel.

Alex Hynes, Managing Director of Northern Rail said: “The rail network across the north of England is benefitting from the biggest investment since Victorian times. To help deliver these improvements for the long term, we need to revise the times of some of our local services so we are asking customers to check times before they travel.

“With the May timetable change these benefits begin to take shape with more services across the Pennines and electrification of routes in the North West.
