What a feeling for CVYT ...

Calder Valley Youth Theatre takes on one of its toughest assignments yet when it presents ‘Flashdance’ at The Halifax Playhouse.

The classic 80’s show is based on the film of the same name and features iconic dance characters alongside a timeless soundtrack of famous 80s hits like ‘What a Feeling’, ‘ Maniac’ and ‘I love Rock and Roll’.

On its original release in 1984, the musical soundtrack knocked Michael Jackson’s album Thriller off the No. 1 spot in America.

CVYT audiences have come to expect fabulous performances, far exceeding their expectations from a cast are aged between 11 and 18. Over six months rehearsals have gone into show week by a cast of 30 children, the production team and the dedicated volunteers at Calder Valley Youth Theatre.

They have also been supported by grants and donations from local organisations to help cover the cost of producing such an epic and ambitious show.

Previous CVYT productions like ‘Starlight Express’, ‘Cats’ and ‘Grease’ and the talent brought together have left audiences spellbound.

This production promises to be another huge hit.

Some tickets are still available to see Flashdance and can be bought online at www.cvyt.co.uk or from the The Halifax Playhouse.
