Set your timer for Sue’s date at the Vic

Much loved and irrepressible, Sue Perkins is going out on the road creating merriment at 14 UK venues this autumn - including The Victoria Theatre in Halifax.

This presents a rare chance to enjoy an evening with Sue packed full of sparkling wit, great stories, a user’s guide to Mary Berry and the very best bits from her hilarious best-selling memoir Spectacles.

Each ticket will include a copy of Sue’s new book (published in paperback on July 28th 2016) and she will be signing copies after each show.

Spectacles was originally published in October 2015 to rave reviews:

The Independent on Sunday wrote - “Warm, crisp and beautifully layered – like its author, Spectacles is a complete delight”.

While Heat Magazine said “Brilliantly written... fearlessly honest and full of heart, it will also make you laugh like a gibbon”.

And The Express - “Deftly written and belly-laugh funny”.

Sue is perhaps best known for being part of the double act Mel and Sue.

Together, the pair have bounced, shouted and gurned their way through countless hours of television, most memorably Light Lunch and its later counterpart, Late Lunch.

Over the years, Sue has worked on a wide range of solo projects too, including documentaries on art, popular fiction and history.

In 2008 she appeared on the BBC show Maestro, culminating in her conducting at The Last Night of the Proms.

She has also collaborated with food-critic Giles Coren on the Supersizers series, where the duo power-ate their way through five centuries of lungs, livers and testicles.

In the last couple of years, Sue has travelled extensively throughout Asia, driving the Ho Chi Minh trail, exploring the length of the Mekong River and getting felt up by a Cambodian hermit.

She is a regular contributor to Have I Got News For You, Just a Minute, Qi and The News Quiz and has been crowned, officially, The World’s Greatest Liar in a hard fought contest in Cumbria.

Sue also presents the quirky panel show Insert Name Here about famous people who share the same moniker.

Oh, and apparently she does some cake show on BBC1.

Together again with Mel Giedroyc, the pair have, of course, compered the massively successful Great British Bake Off, teaming up with national treasure Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood - a show that has created several spin-offs.

This promises to be an evening of absolute fun.
