Alex Boardman’s ability to interact with any audience, his free flowing style and easy charm make him a natural comic and he is sure to be a hit with the regulars at The Works in Sowerby Bridge when the Comedy club returns on August 29.

He is a lightening quick ad libber with a charming edge and his unique brand of ‘flattery and abuse’ proves ever-popular with audiences and has drawn plaudits from fans as diverse as Sarah Millican and Shaun Ryder.

Comedy fans who enjoyed Phoenix Nights Live at Manchester Arena will have a chance to catch one of the show’s stars, Archie Kelly, in the more intimate setting of the The Works.

Archie played Kenny Senior in the TV series but was an established club land comic and singer for many years before that.

The line-up also includes Manchester’s Big Lou with compere Hayley Ellis taking to to the microphone from 8.30pm. www.comedyattheworks.co.uk .
