The streets and venues around Hebden Bridge will be alive with dance, music, storytelling (including Keith Donnelly pictured who presents his new family show I Wish I Was A Monkey), spoken word, street performance and craftwork as the annual Folk Roots Festival, a community run event, takes place this weekend. The event boasts Grammy Award winner Amy Wadge, Mercury Award nominees Kathryn Williams and Michele Stodart of Magic Numbers fame, a fringe festival with more than 40 local musicians and a dedicated Bluegrass Day on Sunday at The Birchcliffe Centre. The finale on Sunday evening at Machpelah Mill, includes former Seahorses front man, Chris Helme, plus Terry Logan and Duende Dj’s.
