“In addition to lanterns, giant puppets, fire performances and street bands, this year’s Lamplighter Festival will be host to some incredible digital artwork,” Artistic Director Andrew Kim explains.

Local filmmaker Christian Krupa will be creating a couple of video projections: one incorporating artwork by residents of Hepdene House and another inspired by the theme. Guy Lymer of local hackerspace Bridge Rectifiers will create illuminated drawings from art by Todmorden Primary School.

Steve Summers of Noisy Toys will create moving illuminations with students from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). The festival will also be featuring live animation projection by illustrator Fabric Lenny of Leeds.

“This Lamplighter will be extraordinary, and with an earlier start time, all the family can come along,” said Executive Director Kathleen McGrath. More detail www.handmadeparade.co.uk or 01422 844154. All timings in next week’s WoW.
