Win Bellowhead tour merchandise

June 2015 will resonate with fans of English folk legends Bellowhead as the month that signalled the beginning of the end.

Jon Boden, front man, lead vocals, fiddle and sundry other instruments decided to step down and the decision was that the band should dissolve after more than 10 years of scaling the heights, winning multiple awards, performing at prestigious venues like Bridgewater Hall and the Royal Albert Hall and creating five albums (plus one live) including the third, Hedonism which went silver, selling more than 60,000 copies.

But it wasn’t all bad news for the legions of fans the band had attracted along the way, because they also announced that in November of the same year they would begin a national tour followed by a further one in April/May of this year.

And Halifax fans must feel rather pleased that one of the most visual groups - there are 11 members in all playing more than 20 different instruments - should have chosen the Victoria Theatre for one of those concerts on Monday, April 25.

The bad news however, is, not unsurprisingly, that like just about every other venue tickets were sold out in a flash.

However we have managed to secure three special farewell tour DVD/CD /and 24 page booklet packages as prizes to give away to readers in a free to enter competition.

Okay, so it’s not as good as a ticket to see the band, but it maybe the next best thing as these items, which come neatly packaged together were put together during that tour in November and feature 52 tracks.
