John Armstrong and friends recreate St Pol concert in Hebden Bridge

A fascinating musical and town twinning link-up is all set to raise some money for a good cause.

The successful Hebden Bridge - St Pol Town Twinning Concert that was run in St Pol in June to mark the 35th anniversary of the town’s twinning with its French opposite number is to be repeated as a fundraising event for the Mayor of Hebden Royd’s - Coun Jonathan Timbers - charity, St Augustine’s Centre, which helps people who otherwise would not have anywhere to go.

The Trades Club, Holme Street, Hebden Bridge, will host the event on Friday, July 18, from 7.30pm, for a fusion of reggae, traditional Tibetan, French Jazz, rock and Funk, followed by a funky set from Sarah B into the early hours of the morning

Featuring Hebden Bridge Junior Band, John Armstrong, Angus Barclay, Lhamo, Terry Logan, Simon Patridge, Becca Ryan, Jim Duffy and Liz Dever. y, Lhamo, Terry Logan, Simon Partridge, Becca Ryan, Jim Duffy and Liz Dever, it promises great things with a great mix-up of styles.

John Armstrong said the hunior band will be recreating their role as brass section for a rousing version of The Specials’ Message To You Rudy.
