A local television celebrity is inviting the community to “Come Dine With Me” to raise money for the newly named David Wright Gallery based at Linden Mill.
Janet Lymer, who recently appeared on Channel 4’s hit cooking show, will be hosting a series of “Come Dine With Us” shows at Artsmill, Hebden Bridge, which will also raise money for next year’s Heptonstall Festival.
Janet, who showcased the best that Hebden Bridge has to offer during her time on Come Dine With Me - dressing in clothes from local shops and buying ingredients locally - will be joined on the nights from her fellow contestants.
Come Dine With Us will take place at Artsmill on October 26, 27, 31 and November 8, ,9, 10 and 21. There will be a two course supper provided, including some of the dishes that were served on Janet’s night, topped off with a replay of the programme along with running commentary from the other contestants.
Janet said: “David sadly passed away in May, and was responsible for setting up and funding the many spectacular free exhibitions such as Mattise, Piccasso, George Grosz, Goya etc. We want to ensure that the legacy of major art exhibitions continues to thrive in Hebden Bridge and require money to guarantee this.”
Tickets (£10) are available from various shops in Hebden Bridge or direct from Janet on 07772 168812 or 01422 847979.
