The Three Valleys Gospel Choir believes that everyone and anyone can sing and last year they reached record numbers of people in the Calder Valley thanks to a grant of £900 from The Community Foundation for Calderdale’s Todmorden News Fund.

They keep it simple, just turn up. You do not have to be able to read music or have sung professional or in a choir before and there is certainly no audition.

They meet at Central Methodist Church, Bramsche Square, Todmorden, on Mondays at 7.30pm - call Helena Cook for more information on 07759 815946 for more details.

Most recently, they performed at the free Party In The Park Tour De France concert at Todmorden.

Chief executive officer of Community Foundation for Calderdale Steve Duncan said: “The grant was used to meet their weekly venue hire costs at an easily reachable and secure base in central Todmorden.

“Having this base meant the group could increase its membership from 45 to 100 people and build its long term sustainability through membership.

“More than doubling their numbers is a great achievement and CFFC are proud to have helped the group to do this”

The group also reported that people who sign have an improved sense of wellbeing, and enables participants to socialise and build friendships across the Upper Valley.
