From the Pennines to the Aussie Outback

A feature film with strong links to the Calder Valley will get its local premiere at Hebden Bridge Picture House on Sunday, May 15 at 4pm.

All About E – a new Australian comedy-drama – is directed by Louise Wadley and Jay Rutovitz and inspired by long walks the pair would take on the hills above Todmorden. Now Sydney-based, Ms Wadley says she is thrilled to bring All About E to Hebden, as the region played a formative part in the film’s development. “Many of the key scenes came to me while being inspired by the dramatic views and atmosphere of the hills when Jay and I were out together on one of our many walks. Then we moved to Australia and London became Sydney and the Yorkshire moors became the Outback,” she said.

The film is a road movie in which a Sydney DJ finds herself on the run when she and her gay best friend and her husband of convenience, stumble upon a stash of cash.
