The series of informal Antony and Friends chamber music concerts resume at Central Methodist Church, Todmorden at 7.30 pm on Saturday, July 19.

Antony Brannick, who hosts and performs at the concerts will be joined by Stephanie Stanway (soprano) and Rachael Gibbon (clarinet).

Stephanie is making her return to Todmorden for the first time since her triumphant performance as ‘Emily’ in Tim Benjamin’s opera of the same name which wowed the Hippodrome audiences last year. This time she brings her gorgeous operatic soprano voice to perform a selection from Richard Strauss’ Op 10 lieder.

Rachael will perform the 3 Fantasiestücke of Robert Schumann which capture perfectly his two contrasting ‘moods’ often found in his music - joy and deep emotional reflectiveness. Antony will also play a sonata by Mozart and a Bach prelude and fugue.

As usual it’s free admission with refreshments available. A retiring collection will be taken to help defray costs.
