Choral Society presents Mozart and Gounod

Halifax Choral Society is accompanied by the North of England Concert Orchestra in this latest concert which will appeal to fans of classical music - and equally to those who are novices.

It begins with Mozart’s Requiem which interestingly is used extensively in film and television which the the audience will quickly recognise. It is followed by Charles Gounod’s first work which was originally written with no expense spared, scored for 6 harps! The two works are 60 plus years apart but they sit well together.

Soloists are soprano Elin Pritchard; mezzo soprano, Rebecca Afonwy-Jones; tenor, Joshua Ellicott and bass, Paul Grant. The conductor is John Pryce-Jones.

Tickets are available from the Victoria Theatre box office on 01422 351158 or online at the Victoria Theatre website or of course on the door until sold out.
