Capturing on film the world of horticulture

She says she always was interested in taking photos but looking back, felt there seemed to be something missing - plenty of shots of family and friends, but not enough of everyday things.

Several years later, when studying for a degree, she became even keener taking her camera and exploring a new life, a new city, new friends, new everyday things. And from that she developed an interest in nature and horticulture.

“Horticulture provides another angle to photography for me. It’s a completely different perspective to photographing architecture for example,” says Linda.

“Living in the countryside in Hebden Bridge has helped me to maintain the idea of wanting to reach out and touch what I’m looking at, which is often very difficult as flowers can be so fragile. But through photography, I’m able to create that sensation.”

Pop Up Horticulture exhibits at Fleur de Lys flower shop, Hebden Bridge which is owned by Claudette Roberts. It runs through the month of July.
