There’s a focus on 3D at Northlight Art Education in Hebden Bridge for those wanting to develop their sculpting skills and to express their ideas in three dimensions.

On March 30 and 31, Sally Barker will lead a Sculpture weekend that will give plenty of time for participants to practice casting in plaster, constructing with wire, modroc and other media.

The weekend will lead to making a plaster cast object that will be contained within a larger mixed media construction.

Since moving to Hebden Bridge from London, artist and teacher Sally Barker has quickly built a reputation for her unique perspective on the environment as was commissioned by Pennine Prospects as a lead artist for the ‘Watershed Landscape’ Project.

Also coming up at Northlight is a ‘Clay-Life’ day workshop led by ceramicist Katch Skinner on Saturday, April 5. This is a rare opportunity to work with clay from a life model.

On Sunday, May 4, Kevin Hickson will be running another of his Willow and Paper sculpture workshops where you can make beautiful large sculptural forms, ideal for converting into unique lamps.
