Hotly tipped for Oscar success, ‘The Butler’ is coming to Hebden Bridge Picture House.

Director Lee Daniels’s tale about a butler for the White House looks back on some of the most dramatic events in American history from the 20th century.

Forest Whitaker plays Cecil Gaines, loosely based on real-life White House butler Eugene Allen, who grew up on a cotton plantation in Georgia in the 1920s then went on to serve eight American presidents over three decades.

The ensemble cast features award-winning actors such as Oprah Winfrey, Vanessa Redgrave, Robin Williams, John Cusack and Alan Rickman.

The all-star line-up is sure to make this one to watch. ‘The Butler’ is served up on Sunday at 4pm, Monday at 7.45pm and Thursday at 10.30am.

Get into the festive spirit with The Muppets as their version of the Charles Dickens classic ‘A Christmas Carol’ is playing over the weekend. See it Saturday at 1.30pm or Sunday at 12.30pm.

After winning the Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, ‘Blue is the Warmest Colour’ is a beautiful, powerful love story between two women.

It will be screened at 7.30pm tomorrow and Sunday. At 15, Adele’s life is changed forever when she meets blue-haired Emma.
