York had won their opening three matches and were on track to extend their 100 per cent record when they led 7-5 after the morning foursomes at Sandburn Hall.
Andy Hare (Bradley Hall) and Tom Hunt (Meltham) were 2 & 1 victors and Tom Calvert (Huddersfield) and Ben Adamson (Crow Nest Park) added another two points for the visitors with a 3 & 2 success.
Halifax-Huddersfield’s other point in the morning came from a halved contest involving Fergus Barron (Dewsbury) and Josh Morton (Huddersfield).
Dewsbury’s Dan Hartley and Bradley Hall’s Sam Bridges notched 2 & 1 wins in the singles to give Halifax-Huddersfield hope.
Elliott Lister (Bradley Hall) had to settle for a share of the spoils after letting a four-hole lead slip but Hare won 3 & 2 and Huddersfield’s Jake Hamilton by 4 & 3.
Scott Minto (Hanging Heaton) halved his match, Hunt won 3 & 2 and success was sealed in style when Fergus Barron (Dewsbury eagled the par five 17th to win 2 & 1.
