All the riders showed great composure and skills in the last Hebden Bridge Equestrian Centre show of the year.
Much coveted champions rosettes, sponsored by Mytholmroyd tack shop Moody Mares, were available for the top four in each class, so competition was fierce.
Sam Youatt and Beth Shackleton have been in close contention for top honours in the children’s advanced obstacle course all season.
As in the past, Beth was quicker than anyone else but Sam and Del-Boy formed an unbeatable partnership with a lightning combined time and no faults or penalties.
Charis Newsome looks a dark horse for next year, having been quietly been picking up rosettes and getting faster.
Honourable mentions go to Aubrey Bridger, for his first entry off the lead rope; Eyde Clayton, for excellent progress throughout the year; Libby Baldwin, for vast jumping improvement over the year; and to Lily Helm, for her fearless determination to one day get Spot faultlessly round the 60cm course.
Also, Izzy O’Keefe has won almost every class she has entered this year, including riding Anavah at the Iberian Northwest Showcase in Wigan in September, clinching top spot with a jump off time 10 seconds better than the rest.
