The official resignation of Old Crossleyans CC from the Spenser Wilson Halifax Cricket League was accepted at a meeting of the league’s executive last night.
A short statement today said the resignation had been received with regret and that no further information would be issued by the league.
The Broomfield club ran three senior teams last season. The firsts finished fifth and the seconds next to bottom of the middle sections,
The thirds were runners-up to Southowram in Division One of the Halifax Sunday League.
Friction between the teams led to the whole cricket committee resigning at an acrimonious meeting recently.
The ‘Old Crocs’ have had a cricket team since the late 1970s and their ground has been used to stage cup finals.
