Siddal’s disappointing start to the National Conference League season continued with a 26-6 home defeat by East Leeds.
Gareth Greenwood’s side, soundly beaten at Hull Dockers the previous week, were given every encouragement when stand off Shaun Garrod crossed in the first minute and Gareth Blackburn converted.
However, that was as good as it got as the visitors, who had drawn 22-22 to Lock Lane the previous week, took charge with prop Luke Pettman their driving force.
Tries from winger Jason Priestley and hooker John Carter, plus a Nathan Conroy conversion, gave the visitors a 10-6 interval lead.
The next score was always going to be important and East Leeds got it through winger Jordan Normanton on 55 minutes.
Tries from Pettman and centre Nathan West in the last six minutes, both converted by Conroy, took East Leeds clear and left Siddal at the foot of the Premier.
