Halifax Cricket League teams have decided to bat on when FC Halifax Town play Grimsby at Wembley in the FA Trophy final on Sunday, May 22.
The day is set to be one of the busiest in the league calendar with games in the second round of the Parish Cup and Crossley Shield, as well as round robin matches in the third teams’ Rod Warhurst Trophy.
Clubs were given the option to play cup games on May 22, with June 5 the reserve date, or put them back a week to May 29, when Bradford City may be involved in the League One play-off final.
Secretary Alan Ford has announced that the voted was 19 to 9, with one no vote and one abstention, to play on the original date.
However, if both clubs agree that the fixture cannot be fulfilled on May 22 then the fixture can be played to a conclusion on June 5, using a bowl out if necessary.
Now the outcome of the vote is know, a decision will be made on Rod Warhurst Trophy fixtures.
