Hebden Bridge Boxing Club has a busy couple of days ahead with four youngsters fighting at two different shows.
Tyler Brocklehurst sets the ball rolling on the Stevie Smith ABC show at Hull. The 36kg fighter has had one win and one defeat so far.
Fellow 11-year-olds Oliver Standring (34kg) and Jay Nelson (36kg) will be in action 24 hours later at the Halifax Star show at Threeways Sports Centre, Ovenden.
Like Brocklehurst, they are awaiting news of their opponents.
Oliver’s older brother George will be one of the top attractions on the Star bill. The 14-year-old British champion will face Barnsley Star’s Will Harty, who he beat on the recent Hebden Bridge show.
George Standring is making a quick return to the ring after beating Bridlington ABC’s Ben Maloney at last Friday’s Halifax ABC event.
Standring was an unanimous victor at 64kg, having suffered his only defeat in the last 18 months to the same fighter on the east coast recently.
Hebden Bridge boss Clayton Varey thought Standring should have got the verdict in that first meeting and said revenge had been sweet.
Standring produced some big shots towards the end of a cagey opening round.
The bridge fighter then stepped up a gear in the second, landing head and body shots.
The taller Maloney was on the back foot in the last round as Standring showed his quality.
