Departing overseas player Bilawal Bhatti had a fine match as Todmorden completed a weekend double in the Lancashire League yesterday.

Bhatti, called back to Pakistan to take part in a Twenty/20 competition, took six for 49 and hit 27 not out in an eight-wicket home win over East Lancs.

Andrew Sutcliffe’s side were following up Saturday’s 40 run win over Colne, also at Centre Vale, and they are now just one point behind Rawtenstall in eighth place.

East Lancs only mustered 107, having been 69 for seven, with Martin Harlow and the skipper also taking a couple of wickets each. Shahrukh Khan hit 29 and pro JP de Villiers 16 for the visitors.

Mo Bhada claimed the wickets of Ben Pearson for 26 with the total on 51 and Elliott Gilford for 12 with the score on 70 but opener Simon Newbitt (39 no) and Bhatti wrapped up an easy win.
