Tod openers Simon Newbitt (31) and Ben Pearson (12) put on 44 and Turner then hit an unbeaten 49 to seal victory in the 32nd over.

Neighbours and rivals Walsden made it three wins in three days, after T20 and Pennine League successes on Friday and Saturday, with a 13-run win at home to Hyde in the ECB National Club Championship.

It was an excellent win for the Scott Street men, who had beaten Littleborough in the first round, as the visitors have won the Cheshire League for the last two years.

Walsden made 256 for eight off their 45 overs. Jake Hooson followed up Saturday’s 141 not out with 57 and Josh Gale made 44 off 37 balls, the pair putting on 86 for the first wicket.

Stevie Barker added 44. but Walsden looked set for a below-par total on a flat wicket until Cameron Hanson struck 52 off 30 balls.

Hyde sped to 70 without loss off seven but Hanson took a good catch at square leg and made a run out as Walsden hit back.

The the change bowlers, led by Josh Gale (three for 33), slowed the flow of runs and Hyde finished on 243 for eight.

Walsden are away to big-spending Bamford Fieldhouse from Rochdale, who play in the Greater Manchester League, in the next round, possibly on June 19.
