Suleman Khan and Sam Gardner took three wickets each to have Batley’s top six back in the pavilion with only 30 on the board.

Muhammad Tahir (22 no) and Naik Zada (15) left Lightcliffe with a little more on their plates.

Lightcliffe were 41 for one off 11 overs, with Sam Jowett the man out for 16, when play was ended.

Scholes made 163 for three in 25 overs against Yeadon, who were 97 for seven after 18 when play was abandoned. Scholes won on a faster run rate.

Ashton Turner hit his maiden Lancashire League century for Todmorden at Colne.

The Western Australian hit 10 fours and four sixes in a knock of 102, his main support coming from skipper Andrew Sutcliffe (30).

The visitors made 208 for seven off 48 overs but play was then washed out.

Walsden were 119 for seven with four overs left at Bamford Fieldhouse when play in their Royal London One-Day Cup match was washed out.

The sides will have to start again next Sunday, if Walsden can get permission from the Pennine League to delay their home Wood Cup quarter final against Norden.
