Hollins Holme will not give up the Eddie Hebblethwaite Halifax FA Sunday Cup Cup easily if their 6-1 thumping of Division One side Queens Head is anything to go by.
Andrew Butterworth netted a hat-trick and Rob Day scored twice.
Day side-footed the first from Steve Senior’s corner after 15 minutes. Butterworth then scored his first from the penalty spot after he had been brought down by the ‘keeper.
Queens responded with a screamer from distance which saw them go into the break just one goal in arrears.
Holme turned up the heat in the second period and a Rob Stansfield free-kick from deep in his own half bounced and evaded everybody for 3-1.
James Chadwick flicked on a header for Butterworth to add his second with 20 minutes to go and Butterworth completed his treble five minutes later, blasting into the top corner from the penalty spot following a handball.
It was left to Day to round things off when he beat four players before slotting home.
Royd Club lost 6-5 at home to Mount Tabor, who went top of Division One.
Royd paid the price for starting with nine men and going two goals down early on.
Hollins host Feathers in the Premier on Sunday while Royd Club play Triangle at Savile Park.
