Brighouse Town ended a spell of five games without a win when they came out on top 2-1 at Mossley yesterday.

Two goals in six minutes in the final quarter helped Paul Quinn’s men turn it round after they had trailed to Dave Short’s 17th-minute effort.

A spectacular Tom Haigh strike from all of 45 yards stunned the home supporters on 72 minutes and Ryan Hall slammed home the winner from 18 yards on 77 minutes.

Victory took Town above their hosts into eighth place in the Evo Stik Northern Premier Division One North table.

Town have a chance to make further progress with home games on the next two Saturdays, against 11th-placed Kendal Town and 18th-placed Witton Albion.
