ZIMBABWEAN pace bowler Ian Nicholson helped Luddenden Foot take a victory over Blackley that had looked highly unlikely at one stage.
Foot managed what looked like a woefully inadequate 108 and that was largely down to Martin, 32, Raven, 23, and Heptinstall, 13.
Nicholson had other ideas as he ripped through the Blackley reply, taking seven for 35 and received good backing from
Chris Whipp (three for 17) and the fielders.
As a result the shell-shocked visitors mustered only 56 and Foot could celebrate ten points.
In the Premier Division Mytholmroyd are still without at win as they followed up their opening day reverse at the hands of promoted SBCI with a 16-run defeat in at Triangle.
Paul Senior took six for 63 but by the time he started to get among the wickets, the home side were well on their way to a total of 296 for nine.
Nathan Madden (72) and Carl Fletcher (83) put on 118 for the second wicket before Nathan Cavalier (48) and Jack Gledhill (26 no) swelled the total.
Tom Earle hit 46 of Mytholmroyd's first 54 runs but at 58 for three the visitors were in big trouble.
Shahid Rashid (37) and skipper Kristian Halstead (60) steadied the ship for a while and Liam Barrett (57) and Jack Earle (30) hinted at an unlikely victory until Smith brought himself and fellow opening bowler Kurtis Whippey back into the attack to finish it.
Booth are bottom of the early table after a 140-run defeat at Copley..
Peter Hoyle's 57 was the highlight of the first half of the innings for Copley and several batsmen chipped in to take the total just beyond the 200 mark.
That proved more than enough as Booth collapsed from 22 without loss to 61 all out in reply - with Tim Rushton's six for 30 and skipper Richard Turner's three for 16 skittling the visitors.
In Division two Old Town were bowled out for 96, chasing Greetland's total of 167 for 5.
SECOND XI
Booth's last wicket pairing of Neil Thomas and Jacob Finney nearly pulled the Premier Division game out of the fire against King Cross.
In the end the match finished in a tie with 16-year-old Finney being bowled off his pads by fellow youngster Reece Uttley after figuring in a tremendous half-century stand with his skipper in a low scoring game.
It had been a similar story for Cross whose skipper Mark Barron came in at number nine and hit an unbeaten 31 to lift the total to 125.
Barron then dismissed the first five Booth batsmen cheaply to put his side firmly in the driving seat.
Home captain Thomas, who has played senior cricket for more than 35 years, was left trying to nurse the Finney along with a batting point for reaching 100 their first target.
Tip and run tactics, plus a couple of sixes from Finney, took them to the brink of victory before Uttley had the final say.
In Division two Luddenden Foot posted 219 for 7 and then bowled Augustinians out for 71.
Old Town's total of 148 was inadequate as Greetland knocked off the runs for the loss of just three wickets.
