The Mytholmroyd batsmen proved stubborn, no more so that Jon Lord who hit 15 fours and four sixes in an unbeaten mid-order 116 which allowed his side
to recover to 266 for 6 after struggling at 93 for 3.
Reece Jennison and Tom Baxter set about the target with an opening stand of 183 before Jennison fell for a boundary-laden 121.
Baxter followed for 93 and then Mytholmroyd took the last five wickets to fall for just 24 runs, Zeb Mahmood claiming four for 77.
Brown's degree joy
Booth's Matthew Brown (pictured) has combined cricket with university studies over the past couple of years and it has paid off as he celebrated getting a first class geography degree from Newcastle University with a century in his side's nine wicket over Northowram Hedge Top.
He pulled his first delivery for four then raced to a century as Booth knocked off Northowram's 211 at a canter.
Jim Mosley offered support with 53 while Richard Laycock chipped in with an unbeaten 34.
The home side had earlier been put in on a greenish wicket and savaged by Richard Laycock, who enjoyed an excellent second spell on the way to figures of seven for 39.
Baeur power
Martyn Astin was in fine form again as Mytholmroyd seconds won by 129 runs at King Cross.
Astin, who has opened the innings for most of his illustrious career, came in at number four on Saturday and top scored with 48.
His replacements at the top of the order Luke Sutcliffe, 31, and Liam Laprell, 46, laid a good platform as Royd scored 197 from 43 overs.
It was never enough as Matt Baeur, 6 for 47, and Sam Walker, 4 for 22, ripped through the Cross batting, taking just 17 overs to dismiss them for 70.
DIVISION ONE
Booth settle for tie
Leaders Booth seconds saw victory snatched from them as Outlane managed to tie the game after a dramatic finish.
They needed just a single off the final over but Crosland bowled Richard Sunderland with his first delivery, finishing with figures of five for 66.
Earlier Glynn Croft had made 134 out of his side's 239, putting on 127 for the first wicket with Crosland, 16, very much in a supporting role.
Outlane lost eight wickets for 42 runs after being 197 for one while Booth slumped from 170 for two.
Although the game was tied, Outlane picked up eight points to Booth's seven due to an extra bowling point for taking 10 wickets to their hosts' nine.
DIVISION TWO
Greg claims a tie
Luddenden Foot and Queensbury ended up tied after an exciting game.
Foot were given a decent start by Mark Wade (31) and an unbeaten 44 from Anthony Martin as the home side recovered from 83 for six.
A rapid 23 from number 10 batsman Stuart Helliwell saw the total climb to 174 for nine and Queensbury slumped to nine for three before recovering to 143 for four.
