MYTHOLMROYD took the local bragging rights after a six wicket Premier Division victory over Booth on Saturday.
Captain Jon Lord invited the visitors to bat first and was rewarded when Gideon Foster removed in-form pair Jim Mosley and Rick Laycock cheaply.
Jack Earle then had Matt Brown – another Booth player with runs under his belt this year – caught hooking to leave Booth 17 for three.
Rob Laycock and Ian Sharkey repaired much of the damage, Laycock reaching an excellent 51 before Paul Senior bowled him with a delivery which kept low.
Andy Truscott made a lusty 43 but a total of 194 was always going to be difficult to defend.
Rick Laycock and Nigel Horsfall made some inroads into the Mytholmroyd top order but a third-wicket stand of 91 between Steve Senior, 65, and Lord, 56, put victory in sight.
Laycock kept plugging away to end with 2 for 39 from 13 overs but Kristian Halstead steered his side home with an unbeaten 25 with five overs still to bowl.
Royd on bottom
Mytholmroyd seconds' disappointing season continued with a six wicket defeat against Thornton which keeps them on the bottom of the table.
Luke Sutcliffe, 34, and Martyn Astin, 29, got them off to a steady start but the innings then fell away dramatically until number nine Sam Walker swung the bat to good effect, hitting three sixes and six fours in a highly entertaining 47.
Matt Baeur removed Thornton opener Swaine without score but his partner Holmes hit 102 to all but seal victory before Nathan Harris ended his innings.
First Division
Loss dents lead
Booth seconds still have a ten point lead at the top of the table despite losing by six wickets at home to Sowerby St Peters.
Batting first they recovered from a poor start to total 230 for 8 with Ali, 83, the main contributor.
Majid, 28, Sutcliffe, 215, and Thomas, 24, gave good support but the Booth had been given a taste of how good a bating track it was.
Sunderland claimed two wickets but Saints got home with 12 balls to spare and plenty of wickets in the shed.
Second Division
Foot fault at Shelf
Only Tony Martin, 31, and Jon Midgley, 16, made double figures as Luddenden Foot were bowled out for 77 inside 24 overs at Shelf.
Robert Ramsden, 6-34, and Dave Maloney, 4-37, did the damage.
Six for Ali
Old Town stay in the promotion mix as Ali's 6-49 haul bowled Wibsey Park Chapel out for 123 at Park Avenue.
Town lost six wickets on the way to victory and were indebted to 34 from Jamil after Butterworth, 25, and Bailey, 24, had laid the earlier foundations.
Town lose 'Hope
A fine 50 from Raphael and support from Lyons, 35, and Cowens, 26, steered Old Town seconds to 189 at home to Oxenhope.
Hall then took 3 for 64 but 65 from Tetley saw the visitors home.
Four-some Skirrow
Skirrow took 4 for 31 as Luddenden Foot seconds restricted ten-man Augustinians to 134 all out.
Getting the runs proved to be difficult as Jones, 33, Hampshire, 21, and Hollindrake, 21, got the reply off to a steady start but it still needed 35 from Price to secure victory.
