Todmorden Hippodrome is offering a special £5 price for students aged 16 - 18 and for NUS cardholders on the Thursday February 26. The feature play Wuthering Heights, by Emily Bronte, will be performed by Todmorden Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society from February 25 - 28. As part of Independent Venue Week Hebden Bridge Trades Club will play host to Peter Perrett (Thursday 29th), Blossoms (Friday 30th). It also features John Bramwell (sold out) (Saturday 31st) and Edwyn Collins (sold out) (Sunday 1st).

Lucky Dog Music Music, will play host to jazz triplet ‘Nut Club’ (see page 21 for full report) on Saturday 31, upstairs at the Todmorden Central Methodist Church. The dance orientated jazz act will be appearing from 7.30pm onwards. Entry is £8 for adults and £6 for concessions.

Calder Valley Youth Theatre have just announced their next November main show will be the 80s dancing spectacular ‘Flashdance’. The 1983 classic, the film version of which starred Jennifer Beals and Michael Nouri promises to be a pulsating, energy driven show when it opens later in the year. The theatre are getting together for the first time in April and auditions will follow soon after.

The show will appear at The Halifax Playhouse theatre from November 4-7, 2015. Auditions are only open to children from year 7 and above due to the nature and theme of the show. Finish January in style at Paradise Lost house and funk music night which returns to the 3 Wise Monkeys in Todmorden on Saturday 31. The night is free and open till late.
