One U3A Todmorden special interest group that gets out and about is the Senior Moments Concert Party.

Started by U3A founder member Rita Olley, the concert party performs roughly once a month at care and residential homes from Halifax to Littleborough, and all points in between.

They sing, dance, tell jokes, stories and poems – they entertain! Many are older than their audience – the oldest member is 93 – and while they aim to provide fun and joy to others, Rita says they get the pleasure back ten-fold.

If you’re lucky, you may catch the mini-pantomime they’re currently rehearsing somewhere near you. To contact Senior Moments Concert Party, you can find Rita’s details on www.u3atod.org.uk.

Another U3A Todmorden group getting around visited Robin Hood Airport, Doncaster, to view XH558, the last flying example of the Vulcan bomber, enjoying a busy but contented retirement.
