A week ahead of the date, a fundraising event featuring top TV actors Timothy West and Prunella Scales has sold out.
While filming their Great Canal Journeys programme, they dropped in to film a segment at Hebden Bridge Little Theatre and when they learned of the damage the theatre, in Holme Street, sustained during the Boxing Day floods, they immediately agreed to appear there at a special fundraiser, an “Evening with Timothy and Prunella.”
This time, in spite of the flood, they will not be arriving by boat but by train and will stay at the White Lion Hotel, Hebden Bridge, who have given accommodation free of charge in support of the event on March 7. The theatre volunteers have been working hard to get the theatre ready for use again, and presented the first production, the classic Alan Ayckbourn comedy ‘Time of My Life’, this week, with the closing night being February 27.
Timothy and Prunella’s famous roles include Timothy’s Edward VII and Prunella’s Basil Fawlty’s put-upon other half Sybil in Fawlty Towers.
