Thousands of reasons to smile as centre gets grant

A community centre has had a fruitful start to 2014 after receiving a £2,000 grant to enable it to keep going.

Dodnaze Community Centre, Hebden Bridge, received the money from the Co-operative grants team and centre development worker Josie McCarthy and fundraising committee member Glenda Gibson thanked them for their support.

Josie said: “We are very grateful for all the local support which we have received over the last 12 months,which has helped keep our centre thriving. We currently have bookings for the various groups we run at the cent, such as toddlers, after school, yoga, astrology and art. We have regular events such as birthday bookings,discos and, currently gathering momentum, film nights. We also have received a computer and laptop with computer upgrading, and continuing support. Here’s to a fruitful 2014 for Dodnaze Community Centre!”
