Northlight Art Studio’s Summer Term programme of art, crafts and writing courses has now been published with the new term starting on April 13.

Tutor Don Myers says: It’s an exciting time for Northlight as they start to use their new teaching and exhibition space ‘Unit 3’.

‘We’ve all been working very hard to get this great space ready for action and we can’t wait to start using it! Our official launch is in May but we really wanted to get the space ready for our Summer Term. The space provides a flexible area that links with our existing space and together will enhance our excellent exhibition teaching, recreation and resource areas,’ says studio member and Ceramics tutor Sue Turner.

Established weekly courses covering many aspects of painting, drawing, ceramics and textiles all continue. Additionally, there’s a new ‘Art for the Terrified’ evening class, evening Printmaking, Watercolour classes and an afternoon Creative Textiles Class. A full programme of day and weekend workshops is also on offer. Workshops include ‘Writing for Children’ and ‘Getting your Writing Published’; Clay Figure Sculpture; a Portrait Painting Weekend; Paper Crafts; a DSLR Photographyweekend; Cartooning; Felt making; Textile Printing; Art for Baby and the very popular Islamic Geometric Design. The new space will come into its own with a full programme of Summer School courses planned for July and August.

Northlight Art Studios is on Valley Road in Hebden Bridge with the entrance to Northlight Art Education on Hangingroyd Lane
