Churches Together in Hebden Royd will be celebrating the Christmas period with a series of events.

From 5.30pm to 6.30pm on Wednesday, December 18, members will be singing carols at Hebden Bridge Railway Station.

From 10.30am on Sunday, December 22, Hebden Bridge Methodist Church will host a carol service, including a puppet show created by Stan and Jean Coleman.

On Christmas Eve, from 6.30pm, members will take part in the traditional carol service in St George’s Square, Hebden Bridge.

l Meanwhile, on the weekend of Saturday, December 14, and Sunday, December 15, parishioners at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Mytholmroyd, are invited to bring along an item of food for the Calderdale Drop-In Food Centre.

The centre last week celebrated the fifth anniversary of its inception.

During that period around 22,000 food parcels have been issued to the most needy in the borough.

The centre is run from the New Ebenezer Centre, Halifax. For more information, visit www.foodandsupportdropin.org.uk
