A school told it needed to improve two years ago is now celebrating after a latest Ofsted inspection rated it as outstanding.
Luddenden Foot Academy, at Burnley Road, Luddenden Foot, received the top rating following an inspection in December.
It marks a huge turnaround for the school, which was told it needed to improve in a number of areas in its last inspection in 2013.
Lead inspector, Fiona McNally, highlighted excellent teaching, strong leadership and pupils’ outstanding progress in core areas.
She said: “By the time pupils leave school at the end of Year 6, their attainment is higher and often much higher than that of pupils of their age nationally. Disadvantaged students make outstanding progress.
“Disabled pupils and those with special educational needs also achieve very well. Pupils’ behaviour is excellent and pupils of different ages and from different backgrounds get on very well.”
Head of school, Rebecca Denham, said: “We are incredibly proud of all the children at Luddenden Foot Academy. The Ofsted results reflects all the hard work from children, parents and all staff.”
