Hebden Royd Primary School pupils raised a whopping £286 - their best ever total - at their Macmillan Coffee Morning.

Year 6 children ran the event. The school hall was transformed into a café with checked table cloths and flowers on each table.

Two PTFA adults helped with the hot drinks but the children did most of the work – serving, washing, drying and cleaning up afterwards.

They worked very hard and were shattered at the end of the morning, said headteacher Gretl Young.
