Photography Competition 2014: Last chance to put the focus on the Calder Valley for £350

Do you have an eye for photography? Together with McCarthy & Stone, we want to put the focus on the beautiful Calder Valley and its heritage.

We have been inundated with amazing photographs of picturesque spots around the valley but we want more.

Over the next two days, get out and about with your camera to be in with a chance of winning a fantastic £350 cash prize.

Whether it is a photograph of some stunning fireworks and bonfire celebrations, Hardcastle Crags, a striking photograph of an animal or a person enjoying a dashing sunset, we want you to get snapping.

Karen Harrowell, regional sales manager for McCarthy & Stone, said: “The Calder Valley is a beautiful place steeped in history. We encourage people in and around the valley to enter the photography competition and capture this stunning area and its rich heritage.”

The winning photograph will be showcased at Leedham Court, on Victoria Road, Hebden Bridge - McCarthy & Stone’s forthcoming Retirement Living development.

As well as having the honour of being published on the wall of the upcoming 32 apartment development, the winner will also receive £350 and second and third place will win £100 each.

Photographs must have been taken in the Calder Valley this year or between now and the closing date.

Entrants must be submitted by November 5, 2014, at midnight to with ‘Photography Competition 2014’ in the subject line. In the email, detail your name, address, age, contact number and a brief description of where the photograph was taken and what the area means to you. One entry per person.

The photographs will be posted on the Hebden Bridge Times and Todmorden News websites and the final six entries will be judged by a panel of employeess at the newspapers and a representative from McCarthy & Stone.
