The Good Shepherd Luncheon Club which began in the early 1990s was the brainchild of Sister Una Casey who was attached to the Good Shepherd Church in Mytholmroyd when it first opened .

Father John Gott was very keen on the idea and gave the club his blessing.

It was set up to provide a good midday meal for local pensioners (and not necessarily Roman Catholics - it is open to anyone) somewhere for them to meet and socialise and make new friends.

Clients who join the club have to agree to attend each week, except when they are ill or on holiday.

For more information on joining - there are some places available - call Doris on 01422 750586.
