You could follow Aidan and Sol on to national stage

Calderdale Theatre School will audition for new members on Saturday, September 29.

The youth theatre already has 80 members from all over Calderdale and is open to young people aged from 11 to 19. They work on Saturday mornings with professional actors, directors and drama teachers on theatre skills-based workshops and everyone has the opportunity to take part in productions. Last year, the CTS production of Prince of Denmark by Michael Lesslie was chosen to be performed at London’s National Theatre. The cast of 19, including Aidan Good (picture by Simon Annand, the photographer at the National and the Globe) and Sol Cotton, both from Hebden Bridge, performed to an audience of more than 800 in the Lyttelton Theatre at the National.

Sessions are now at Heath Training and Development Centre but will move in January to the Orange Box young people’s centre in Halifax. Anyone interested in taking part in the auditions can visit www.calderdaletheatreschool.org.uk for details.
